Zhen Zhen Porridge

Waiting period for this famous porridge at Maxwell can easily range from 30 to 45 minutes especially during lunch hour. However, if you have the time to spare, it is definitely worth the wait! One reason for the long waiting time is because each bowl of porridge is cooked and prepared separately. The owner I talked to said that would allow them to deliver consistent tasting porridge to their customers. Talk about Quality Control! With such low price and high quality, I guess I can't really complain! The servings are extremely generous, with heaps of chopped spring onions and crunchy fried shallots as garnishing with a dash of flavor with sesame oil. The fish and chicken are fresh and thoughtfully cut into bit sized for ease of eating. The porridge is smooth, thick and dense and full of flavor. Put together, it's easily one of the best porridge around. Word of advise, go early if you wish to patronize Zhen Zhen porridge. On the day I went, it was sold out by 2pm.
